EUROPE

EUROPEAN UNION – On March 10, 2022, the European Parliament adopted a resolution that includes recommendations to harmonise EU-wide e-invoicing regulation. Learn more

BELGIUM – The Prime Minister of Belgium is expanding the scope of the existing B2G e-invoicing mandate by implementing mandatory e-invoicing for all transactions with public administrations in Belgium. Learn more

ITALY – The deadline for e-invoicing mandates to cover cross-border transactions was postponed to July 1, 2022. Starting on this date, Italian VAT businesses will have to declare every invoice sent or received abroad to the SDI platform.

ROMANIA – Businesses supplying high-risk financial products must be ready to comply with the new Romanian e-Factura system as of July 1, 2022. Learn more

SPAIN – The Spanish Ministry of Finance has published a draft resolution that will – once adopted – require implementing new invoice content requirements, including QR codes and billing record generation by January 2024. Learn more

INDIA – The Indian Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued a notification lowering the annual taxpayer threshold for mandatory e-invoicing to a turnover of 20 crores rupees as of April 2022. Learn more

LATIN AMERICA

PARAGUAY – Starting July 2022, the use of the Integrated National Electronic Invoicing System (Es. Sistema Integrado de Facturación Electrónica Nacional -SIFEN –) will gradually become mandatory for certain taxable persons.
