EUROPE

FRANCE — The French government introduced a B2B e-invoicing mandate, which will gradually be applied between 2023 to 2025 for all businesses. In September, a comprehensive report regarding the conditions for implementing this obligation was submitted to French Parliament. Technical, legal and operational requirements for setting up the process are to be discussed in the coming weeks. Learn more

GERMANY — B2G e-invoicing to federal authorities will become mandatory in Germany as of November 2020. Learn more

PORTUGAL — B2G e-invoicing to public administrations for large businesses (more than 250 employees) will become mandatory in Portugal as of January 2021. Learn more

ASIA/PACIFIC

AUSTRALIA — The Prime Minister and Treasurer announced that all Australia’s Commonwealth agencies must accept e-invoicing through PEPPOL by July 1, 2022.

INDIA — After the go-live of the introduction of the new e-invoicing mandate for companies with a threshold limit of 500 crore rupees or more, the Indian Finance Secretary announced that businesses with a threshold limit of 100 crores rupees or more will have access to the Invoice Registration Portal as of January 1, 2021. And by April 1, 2021, all taxpayers will have access to the IRP as well. Learn more

SAUDI ARABIA — Saudi Arabia drafted its e-invoicing regulations for a clearance model and opened it for public consultation.

SINGAPORE — The IMDA announced that businesses operating in Singapore can now submit e-invoices to government agencies through PEPPOL e-invoicing network.

LATIN AMERICA

GUATEMALA — As of December 31, 2020, certain taxpayers will be incorporated into Guatemala’s Online Electronic Invoicing (FEL) system. Learn more
